5DEV Pulley Wheel Maintenance FAQ

What short-term maintenance is recommended for 5DEV Pulley Wheels?

For short-term maintenance, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Remove the Pulley Wheels from the Cage:
    • Periodically, take the wheels off the cage.
  2. Clean the Components:
    • Remove the outer metal spacers (also known as dust covers).
    • Wipe everything clean with a rag and, if necessary, soapy water.
  3. Reassemble Correctly:
    • Reinstall the metal spacers and screw according to your drivetrain manufacturer's instructions.

Should I service the bearings?

No, the bearings are fully sealed and are not considered user-serviceable. You should not remove the rubber seals integrated into the bearings. Additionally, you do not need to add grease or lubricant to our wheels.

Is adding grease or lubricant recommended?

Adding grease or lubricant elsewhere in the assembly depends on the conditions. In dusty conditions, lubrication might be beneficial, while in purely wet conditions, it might not be necessary. We do not make specific recommendations for adding grease or lubricant in these areas.

Can I replace the bearings?

Currently, the bearings are not considered replaceable, and we do not provide a bearing specification or replacement kit at this time. However, we are working on a plan to address this in the future.
